The Overview
In real production, things move fast. Clients change direction, swap products, or rethink the entire look—sometimes at the last minute. Normally, that means going back into the simulation and rebuilding everything from scratch.
This project explores a different approach. Instead of tying the simulation to a specific object, I treated it as an independent system—something that doesn’t depend on the geometry you feed into it. The goal was simple: build a setup that stays stable, no matter what you plug into it.
The Challenge
Most simulation rigs are fragile by nature. They’re built around a single object, a specific shape, and a fixed motion. So when a client says, “Let’s switch the running shoe to a football boot,” the whole setup usually falls apart.
That’s the problem I wanted to solve. I needed a system that could handle complex morphing while staying flexible enough to adapt instantly. Something that allows you to swap assets in seconds—without losing the underlying logic or the character of the motion.
The Solution
Instead of building the simulation around a specific object, I built the underlying logic. By separating the simulation from the mesh, the setup works as an independent system. Using X-Particles and custom vertex maps, the transition is calculated first, and the geometry is applied afterward—so the behavior stays consistent regardless of the shape.
This turns a manual, one-off process into a flexible workflow.
I can swap assets, test variations, and iterate quickly without touching the core setup.

The Result
A modular framework that works across different use cases—footwear, liquids, or abstract forms—while keeping the same underlying logic.
By shifting from building scenes to building systems, I reduced iteration time by up to 70%. This allows me to focus on creative direction and fine details, knowing the technical foundation can handle rapid changes.
