Project Overview
This project was a fully remote, end-to-end 3D motion design campaign for NXP’s Computex 2022 Keynote in Taipei, highlighting automotive, smart home, and industrial technologies. I was the lead 3D designer, responsible for the visual language, key visuals, overlays, transitions, style animations, and final delivery — from initial R&D through previz, styleframes, and full 3D post-production.
The Brief
NXP needed a futuristic, coherent 3D visual language that could communicate advanced concepts like secure edge, AI, automotive intelligence, and smart home technologies during a live keynote. The challenge was to translate these abstract technical ideas into visuals that were engaging and understandable, without overwhelming the audience. The content had to align with the keynote’s narrative, flowing smoothly across multiple segments with a consistent look and feel.
Creative Approach
I began by building a Miro moodboard and R&D frames to explore materials, color, and composition. Previz animations and iterative styleframes allowed stakeholders to visualize the direction early and give targeted feedback. Using a Vertical Slice workflow and Scrumban framework, each slice delivered tangible value for review — making iteration fast, clear, and structured. The Double Diamond process guided the project from discovery and research to ideation, development, and delivery.
Execution
Based on the final styleframes, I produced style animations for the keynote’s key visuals. Each element—overlays, lower-thirds, transitions, participant animations, and opening sequences—was crafted in isometric 3D, balancing technical precision with visual clarity. The project was delivered in three weekly sprints, supported by daily standups and live stakeholder reviews, ensuring alignment with NXP’s vision throughout.
Outcome
The visuals successfully supported NXP’s keynote narrative, making complex edge, automotive, and smart home technologies clear and compelling to a live audience. Stakeholders were highly satisfied, and the designs became a cohesive visual system for the keynote.
